Cross Sportswear unveils 2016 rainproof apparel line

Cross Sportswear's new rainproof golf apparel is designed to deliver waterproof performance and superb Scandinavian styling.

The company's 2016 collection is built around a portfolio of wet-weather apparel featuring the FTX System.

Cross Sportswear combines the four-way stretch, waterproof, windproof and breathable ultrathin FTX membrane with a range of different outer fabrics, in a three or two-layer sandwich construction, and the end result is up to 20,000 mm waterproofing and 20,000 g/m2/24h breathability.

These hopes to provide maximum comfort, with the user kept dry on two levels: rain is repelled, while moisture vapour created by the body is allowed to evaporate rather than being trapped.

Golfers have a choice of three waterproof suit styles. The flagship Edge, mid-range Pro and entry-level Cloud whichall provide ultimate Level 1 protection from the elements.

The Edge Jacket (RRP £217) features a three-layer sandwich construction of outer shell, membrane and inner lining protection but remains light, soft and quiet, stretchable and comfortable when playing golf thanks to its four-way stretch design.

With Bemis tape-sealed seams, a water repellent front zipper, adjustable collar, cuffs and hem and microfleece chin guard, it also has a full three-year waterproof guarantee.

In a contemporary 'narrow' fit, the jacket is available in three colour schemes (Charcoal/White, White and Charcoal) and sizes S-XXL. A zip-off sleeve, quarter zip Edge Pullover is also available in Sunburst Orange with white sleeves and charcoal back panel, or white with grey sleeves.

Matching Edge Pants (RRP £173) and Edge Chino (RRP £145) waterproof trousers, in waist sizes S-XXL and a variety of leg lengths, complete the set.

The same attention to detail is applied in the Pro suit, which is constructed using a two-layer laminated membrane/outer construction while retaining Cross Sportswear’s Level 1 rain proofing.

This mid-range suit is packed with features like shaped collars, a Microfleece chin guard, sealed seams, an inner security pocket, bottom hem adjuster and fleece-lined front pockets.

The Pro Jacket (RRP £165) comes in five colour choices (Navy, Dive Blue, Motor Red, Granny Green and Black) while the Pro Zip-Off jacket (RRP £174) has the option of removable sleeves. Fully coordinating Pro Pants (RRP £130) allow the golfer to look every inch the Tour professional, coming in three colours with waist sizes S-XXXL and three leg lengths.

Cross Sportswear also provides apparel at a lower price point. The Cloud suit is a lightweight two-layer design guaranteeing Level 1 protection and breathability.

This entry-level suit incorporates the Cloud jacket (RRP £99) in five colour choices and the Cloud Pants (RRP £77), featuring long leg zippers to allow easy on-off even with shoes, Cordura re-inforcement and side, front and back pockets.
