McGinley opens Portugal fitting centre
Quinta do Lago ties in with TaylorMade
A new Quinta do Lago resort centre of excellence has been launched and opened by TaylorMade staff player Paul McGinley in Portugal.
It will give local golfers and visitiors access to state-of-the-art technology used by Tour professionals, to improve their game and have clubs fitted to their individual swings.
The opening of the centre in a partnership with TaylorMade and The Paul McGinley Academy is the first step in a long term project that aims to bring together science, experience and quality in a 600.000 euro investment.
Said McGinley, a former Ryder Cup hero and successful captain of the Seve Vivendi Cup side: "I have been coming here for years. The kids enjoy coming here and I love playing the three golf courses and going to Casa do Lago in the evenings. I'm delighted that it's all coming together.
"I am going to be very hands on throughout the time and want to see it all working and operating at a high level."
Science will be a central part in the facility that offers all of the most up to date teaching aids including swing and putting analysis.
The new Academy and Fitting Centre features six target greens at strategic distances to allow golfer to every
club in the bag, while the short game practice area includes a 400 sq metre putting green a chipping green
built to USGA specifications and a bunker area.
The new TaylorMade Select Fit system offers golfers a custom-fitting experience with a broader array of golf club options to ensure the best fit for their swing operated by TaylorMade technicians using the Trackman launch monitor system.
