Watch this LPGA Tour pro (in contention) hit a brutal shank on 72nd hole!
The LPGA Tour's A Lim Kim ended her week at the season's first major championship with a painful shank on the 18th hole Sunday.
The LPGA Tour's A Lim Kim probably wants to redo her second shot at the par-5 18th of The Club at Carlton Woods during the final round of the Chevron Championship.
Heading into the final round in The Woodlands, Texas for the season's first major championship, Kim was firmly in contention.
The South Korean had recorded rounds of 71, 65, and 72, and was 8-under par after 54 holes. She was two back of the leaders.
And on Sunday, Kim was dialled in. The 27-year-old was even-par through her round, and needed an eagle to tie the clubhouse lead.
But nothing of the sort ended up happening for Kim. Playing her 72nd hole, she hit one of the most brutal shanks you'll likely ever see.
Her second shot at the 18th hole came from mostly the hosel of her club for a true shank at the worst of times.

Kim was able to recover and still make par at the hole, but it wouldn't be enough to earn a spot into the playoff.
Instead, Kim finished two strokes back at 8-under after an even-par 72 and was in a tie for fourth with Atthaya Thitikul and three others.
Angel Yin and Lilia Vu went to a playoff to decide the winner, were Vu won it on the first extra hole with a birdie.
For the win!

Nelly Korda, the World No. 2, finished alone in third, one stroke back of the leaders.
The silver lining for Kim was that her top-five finish Sunday was still the best result of her 2023 season so far. Her next best finish was a tie for 14th at the HSBC Women's World Championship in early March.
The season's next major is the KPMG Women's PGA Championship which is set for June 22-25 in New Jersey.
