Matt Kuchar ends four-year wait for PGA Tour glory at Mayakoba Classic
Kuchar claims narrow one-stroke win in Mexico.
Matt Kuchar sealed his eighth PGA Tour title of his career with a hard-fought victory at the Mayakoba Classic.
Kuchar, 40, began the final round with a commanding four-stroke lead, but a late surge from New Zealand's Danny Lee saw the American standing on the 18th tee with a one-stroke lead.
Lee missed his birdie attempt from 20 feet on 18 in the group ahead, before Kuchar went on to two-putt from 40 feet for a round of 69 and one-stroke victory on 22-under.
The victory, just like Lee Westwood earlier in the day at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, marked his first tournament victory for more than four years.
Congratulations, Matt Kuchar!
He's claimed the @MayakobaGolf Classic.
