Brooks Koepka on fighting Dustin Johnson: "It would be a good fight"
Koepka addresses his alleged bust-up with Johnson on the Dan Patrick Show
Brooks Koepka has continued to deny there was any altercation between he and Dustin Johnson on the Sunday evening, despite US Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk and a number of other witnesses claiming there was "brief" bust-up between them.
Koepka made his comments on the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday afternoon, just moments after receiving his PGA Tour Player of the Year award from Jack Nicklaus and receiving a congratulatory tweet from Johnson.
"I don't know what they think they saw or what they think they heard, but it was far from the truth," said Koepka, who went on to explain the two may have just been "taking about college football or something" and "how bad Florida State was."
He added: "I was texting with him before the story even existed. There is nothing there. We've just laughed about it."
Dan Patrick then challenged Koepka, rather tongue-in-cheek, as to whether he thought he could take Johnson in a fight.
"I don't know, it would be a good match," said Koepka, comparing it to Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov last weekend.
"I'm sure it would be a good fight … it would be interesting, maybe sell a few tickets."
The pair then discussed the possibility of Patrick Reed v Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods v Phil Mickelson going head-to-head in a ring. in the ring, too.
