Guido Migliozzi: completing a 'Magical' first European Tour victory
Guido Migliozzi pens his latest blog for GolfMagic fresh off his maiden European Tour victory at the Magical Kenya Open...
Hello GolfMagic readers, Guido Migliozzi here with my latest blog for you guys - I am writing this from Morocco as I prepare for this week’s European Tour event after a short break in the schedule...
I've needed a few weeks off to help me rest and digest what an incredible month March was after recording a very first European Tour win at the Magical Kenya Open.
Who knows, perhaps my regular blogs for you guys at 'Magic' had something to do with it!
I honestly felt at the start of the week the course at Karen CC in Nairobi really suited me down to the ground, and that it would play to my strengths because I had played on very similar courses in the past.
After a 64 in the third round to take me to the front, I was delighted with how I played on Sunday under that intense pressure. This is what all of us professional golfers out here work so hard for and I enjoyed every second of it out there. The crowds were fantastic and really supported me through to the winning line.
I chose to dedicate this victory to my grandfather who passed away just after I returned from Q-School, and also Teodoro Soldati, an incredible young Italian golfer who I often played golf with. He was killed tragically by leukemia when I was just 18 in 2015.
My debut European Tour win will honestly live with me forever, and I have so many people to thank for helping me get there. I must thank my family, Montecchia Golf Club, my coach Massimo Scarpa, personal trainer Filippo Zucchetti, all my sponsors, the Italian federation and my management company Modest Golf.

To then be voted the Hilton Honors Player of the Month for March on the European Tour, as voted for by the public, was just the icing on the cake. A big thanks to any of you guys and girls out there who voted for me!
Next up on the radar is obviously this week's Trophee Hassan II at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Morocco, and then I've got a busy few weeks coming up in China and England so lots of air miles will be collected.
I really can’t wait to get across and tee up in the British Masters hosted by Tommy Fleetwood. It's going to be a fantastic week and the European Tour always seems to put so much into this event.
During my time out, I enjoyed watching The Masters on television like every other golf fan. I, like so many other young golfers out there, want to reach the goal in playing this tournament against the best golfers in the world.
What an incredible win it proved to be for Tiger Woods after all the challenges he has faced both on and off the golf course. He has inspired so many people to take up the game of golf and is a true sporting icon.
A fully-fit Tiger who is playing well and winning is good for every aspect of the game and I hope his 15th career major title - coming 11 years after his 14th - helps drive the interest in golf across the world. More kids should get out there and play!
Before I sign off, I would like to thank all my sponsors for their ongoing support.
TaylorMade have supported me from amateur golf and their continued support through to me turning professional has never wavered and I can’t thank Adrian, Mark and Sam from the tour team enough.
Galvin Green, Your Golf Travel and Golfposer have also supported me from the start of my professional journey and I must thank them all for all they have done and continue to do.
I would also like to thank all of you at GolfMagic for the well wishes I continue to receive from you. It's a pleasure to be able to write for you on a regular basis and if there are any questions you would like answering then please get in touch with me on my social media channels and I will reply when I can.
