Conclusion

Following the test, it was clear there were four wedges that Andy, Charlie and Tom were chomping at the bit to talk about in the 19th: TaylorMade ATV, Titleist Vokey SM4, Cleveland 588 RTX and PING Gorge Tour

While many people will have contrasting views on the same wedge, the ATV and Vokey SM4 were our champions on this occasion and we believe rightly so given they tick just about every box when it comes to ball flight, carry, spin rate, accuracy, feel and appearance.

The Mizuno MP-T4, Callaway Forged and Wilson FG Tour TC were closely tucked in behind, and we would certainly not put anyone off bagging one of these wedges this season.

Of the remainder, we believe the Cobra Trusty Rusty is a decent blast from the past, the Yonex WS-1 presents some of the best feel out there, while the Adams Tom Watson Anniversary Edition offers decent value for money at almost half the price of some of the leading wedges in this test.

While we suggest you try numerous wedges and get yourself custom fit before you buy in order to find the right one for your game, we believe our test is a good idea of what you should be looking for this season.
