Bryson DeChambeau not happy with his Titleist Pro V1x: "I'm looking for a new golf ball..."
LIV Golf superstar Bryson DeChambeau takes aim at the Titleist Pro V1x and admits he's now in the market for a new golf ball because "it's spinning too much" with his wedges.
Bryson DeChambeau admits he's now in the market for a new golf ball after being extremely unhappy with the performance of his Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash during the first round of LIV Golf Hong Kong.
Despite disapproval with his dimples, DeChambeau, 31, still went on to open with a solid 4-under 66 in the first round at Hong Kong GC.
It sees him lie three shots adrift of his Crushers GC teammate Paul Casey, who went round in a stunning 7-under 63.
DeChambeau admitted to being unhappy with his Titleist Pro V1x golf ball after the first round.
He took particular aim at the ball's performance from in and around 100 yards.
The Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x have regularly been considered by many equipment testers as some of the best golf balls in the game.
But it would appear DeChambeau isn't quite so convinced, at least after his latest round on the breakaway Saudi league.
DeChambeau is currently a free agent in the golf equipment world - and as a result he uses a mixed bag of products in 2025.
He did recently sign an apparel and footwear deal with Reebok though.
"It's spinning too much with my wedges," a disgruntled DeChambeau said of his Pro V1x ball during a post-round interview with LIV Golf.
"If I try to hit a full shot it will rip off the green, you saw that on 15, and that was from a 95 yard shot downwind, it ripped back 30 feet.
"So there's something weird with just me in general and the way I play golf.
"I'm looking for a golf ball that launches a lot lower, has controlled spin on a full swing and half swing still has spin.
"So that's really what I'm looking for right now and hopefully I can go find a golf ball that can do that because I am certainly not changing my motion."
