Tour Championship: Rory McIlroy - What's in the bag?
Take a look inside Rory McIlroy's winning bag at the Tour Championship.
Under the new FedEx Cup format, Rory McIlroy started the Tour Championship five shots behind Justin Thomas. McIlroy came out flying and we saw a relentless McIlroy that we just might start seeing a lot more often.
McIlroy finished the tournament 18 under par to take home the Tour Championship and be crowned the FedEx Cup champion for a second time earning the Northern Irishman a tasty $15 million at East Lake.
It was a sensational performance from McIlroy, who played with a level of consistency that we have seen all season, where he has won three times, capturing the Players Championship, the Canadian Open and now the Tour Championship.
In McIlroy's last seven starts on Tour, he hasn't finished worse than T6 and he led the field in strokes gained off the tee, strokes gained tee-to-green and total strokes gained for the season.
“Brooks went out there in Memphis and shot 65 and just basically dominated the tournament, dominated me," said McIlory, referring to the WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational last month.
"And I realised if I want to become the dominant player in the world again, I need to be more like that.
"To play like that alongside Brooks and win, it's awesome."
