Original Penguin re-entering golf market - teams up with Sugarloaf Social Club
Original Penguin are back in the golf game, and they've enlisted the help of a young, progressive brand to help on re-entry.
Original Penguin are re-entering the golf apparel market, and they’ve joined up with Sugerloaf Social Club to help them tap into a younger generation that may not be aware of their heritage in the sport.
A behemoth in the clothing game, Original Penguin was one of the most respected golf apparel brands in the 1960s-1980s, decking out Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer to name a few. It actually started out making golf shirts, but has since grown into a huge company making clothing, shoes and eyewear.
But their relevance later died out in golf - until spring 2018 that is, when they will launch a new line.
In order to kick-off their new line-up in the most effective way, Original Penguin are also launching a bespoke line with Sugarloaf Social Club, a brand producing progressive, stylish attire you’d be happy to be seen wearing off the golf course…every brand says that, but with their clothing it’s actually true!
Original Penguin is an American brand, owned by Perry Ellis, founded in 1955 with a headquarters in New York.
