KJ Choi signs with PING
Asian veteran to play with new PING G400 clubs on the PGA Tour this season.
Asia's most successful ever player KJ Choi has signed a new equipment deal with PING for the 2017-18 PGA Tour season.
Choi, 47, has won eight times on the PGA Tour, with his last victory dating back to the 2011 Players Championship.
The new deal will see Choi play a minimum of 13 PING clubs, including the new G400 driver, fairway woods, hybrid and irons, as well Glide 2.0 wedges and a Sigma G Piper putter.
He will also sport the PING logo on the side of his hat and golf bag.
“I have long admired PING equipment for its quality and I feel it’s a true collaboration when I work with the tour-player staff," Choi told the PGA Tour.
"I can be very particular about what I want from a golf club, and their attention to detail is as keen as mine, so they always find the right solution for me and my game. I’m truly excited to be on board with PING and very much look forward to the season ahead.”
Choi has amassed more than $32 million during his career.
“[K.J. will] bring the PING brand tremendous exposure and credibility around the world, especially in South Korea, where he’s extremely popular among golfers,” said PING's chairman and CEO John A. Solheim.
