Kizzire claims Sony Open in Hawaii: in the bag
Titleist staffer Kizzire becomes first multiple winner on Tour this season
It took towering Patton Kizzire a mammoth six holes to down James Hahn via a play-off at the Sony Open in a thrilling climax to the event in Hawaii.
The American shot a two-under 68 to face Hahn, who had posted a 62 in his final round, and eventually won with par on the par-three 17th after his opponent lipped out from eight feet.
Previously, the pair traded blows with two pairs of birdies and pars on the par-five 18th before moving on to the previous hole, which they both parred at the first attempt.
"It wasn't pretty," Kizzire said. "I'll take it any way I can get it."
Kizzire becomes the first multiple winner on the PGA Tour this season after picking up the OHL Classic in Mexico.
