Cobra has revealed its KING F8 irons, complete with Cobra Connect for the first time.
REVIEW: COBRA KING F8 IRONS
The system helps players make smarter decisions on the course through data. Electronic sensors in the grip record distance and accuracy of every shot, working in conjunction with the Arccos 360 smartphone application, which also provides GPS distances.
If you buy a seven-piece iron set, Cobra will provide you with enough sensors for your 14 club set.
“Our 2018 iron offering is truly ground-breaking, as it provides not only innovative technologies to achieve better performance across the board, but also the wherewithal to actually quantify just how much better, thanks to COBRA CONNECT,” said Tom Olsavsky, Head of R&D for Cobra Golf.
“Our F8 line offers an innovative solution for both the players who trust their games to variable length irons and also for the growing contingent of golfers who have realised the benefits of our ONE length set up.”
PWRSHELL Face Technology - improves speed and launch
Carbon Feel Technology - dampens vibrations for better sound and feel
TECFLO Progressive construction - tailors performance for each iron. Long and mid irons (4-7) have full hollow cavity with milled V-grooves for less spin and more distance. Short irons (8-PW) have Milled U-Grooves and a cavity back design for control and more spin. A speciality wedge design increases spin further.
Progressive hosel lengths - position CG for optimum launch throughout the set
A full set of irons of seven iron length, lie and swing weight. For 2018, TECFLO is incorporated in the One Length options, while they also benefit from progressive technology through the set like the variable length set.
For the new set, Cobra use a specific one length shaft with variable tipping executions, making the long irons play soft and launch higher and short irons stiffer for a lower launch.
“Overall, I’d say the F7 One Length was a great surprise for us this year, surpassing all sales forecasts we had at the outset, and Bryson DeChambeau’s impressive win at the John Deere Classic this summer certainly helped generate even more interest,” said Olsavsky.
“Now, as more players take note of the benefits provided by a ONE length set, we are excited to deliver the F8 line-up, with cutting-edge iron technologies that work in unison with the one length philosophy to make them even easier to hit and more consistent than before. And even better, with Cobra Connect golfers don’t have to just take our word for it. They can clearly see just how much they’ve improved based on real data points. The numbers don’t lie.”
One Length hybrid - to complement the irons players can also get a hybrid in the same length.
