Brandon Stone: in the bag

South African Brandon Stone fired a stunning 60 in the final round of the Scottish Open to win by four shots over English runner-up Eddie Pepperell.

The 25-year-old had a chance to secure the first 59 on the European Tour, faced with an eight footer for birdie putt on the 18^th hole, but was unable to convert.

"The first time I knew I had the opportunity (to score 59) was when I was walking on to the 18th green," he said.

"To stand here as the Scottish Open champion is really incredible," Stone told BBC Sport.

"The attitude was spectacular all week - my caddie obviously kept me very calm and level headed, not only today but the entire week."
