Bettinardi outrage as putters pop up in Costco stores
Popular putter brand Bettinardi expressed immense outrage in an official statement on Friday when they're putters were being sold at Costco.
Popular Tour-proven putter brand Bettinardi released an angered statement regarding the unauthorised distribution of their clubs in Costco.
In a statement which was released on Friday, the company revealed one of their distributors attempted to sell its products to a Costco store in South America.
The company, founded by Robert J. Bettinardi in 1998, said that they are endeavouring to remove all the clubs from every Costco store and website. Costco is an American corporation which provides big-box retail stores worldwide.
"In an attempt to increase Bettinardi Golf's distribution in South America, one of our distributors chose to break their contract and sell their Bettinardi product to Costco without the consent of Bettinardi Golf," the statement read.

"We take great pride and work very hard to choose the very best retail partners around the globe to carry our high-end products.
"We are extremely disappointed that one of our distributors would choose to diminish our brand and end our relationship in this way - Costco is not an official distributor of Bettinardi Golf."
Bettinardi is one of the most popular putting brands on the PGA Tour. Matt Fitzpatrick used one of their putters on his way to securing his first major title at the US Open back in June.
LIV Golf rebels Sam Horsfield and Jason Kokrak also use the brand. Both players are playing in the fourth event of the Saudi-backed series near Boston this week.
Tour veterans Fred Couples and Matt Kuchar are also advocates of Bettinardi as well as Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Patty Tavatanakit of the women's game.
