10 of the best Nike Golf equipment
With Nike Golf revealing it will no longer make clubs, balls and bags, we look at some of its finest creations down the years.
2002 - NIKE FORGED PRO COMBO IRONS
The first Nike Golf club to reach the market.
The long irons were cavity backs, the mid irons as muscle back and the short irons and wedges as blades.
The Pro Combo’s long irons (2, 3, 4-iron) carried more weight in the sole, heel and toe to create a lower centre of gravity, while the muscle back cavities (5, 6 and 7-iron) had weight pads to balance forgiveness and accuracy with clubhead weight distributed progressively towards the toe to improve the feel.
The short irons (8, 9-iron, PW) were designed with a higher centre of gravity for better control, touch and feel, and to prevent shots from ballooning.
