Best Golf Tips: Try these simple drills ahead of golf's return
Best Golf Tips to help you find more fairways and hole more putts ahead of golf's return in England on March 29
With golf returning to England on Monday March 29, we want to share with you our favourite five golf tips to help keep your game sharp by the time you hit the course.
From finding more fairways and improving ball striking with your irons, to nailing short-game shots and holing more putts, we've got you covered. Check them out below:
GOLF TIP #1 - HOW TO HIT YOUR DRIVER STRAIGHT EVERY TIME
Check out this awesome golf drill on how to find more fairways when you next get back out onto the course. All you need is two range buckets and two sticks. The goal is to hit your ball through the posts. Check out Master Professional Duncan Woolger's helpful tip in the video below:
GOLF TIP #2 - HOW TO DRAMATICALLY IMPROVE YOUR BALL STRIKING
This is one of our all-time favourite golf drills. The classic 'through the gate' drill will really help you improve your ball striking with your irons and wedges. Simply put three balls in a line, and swing through hitting the middle ball without touching the other balls. It will take some practice, but it will dramatically help your ball striking. Check out Woolger's simple and effective drill below:
GOLF TIP #3 - HOW TO STOP SHANKING THE GOLF BALL COMPLETELY
In many ways, quite similar to the second tip above, however, this one involves the clever positioning of range buckets to ensure you swing through to the golf ball correctly. Another one of our favourites, and we are confident this feeling will help stop your from ever shanking the ball again. Check out former European Tour pro Carl Watts' awesome tips below:
GOLF TIP #4 - HOW TO RADICALLY IMPROVE YOUR PITCHING
Without doubt one of our favourite ever pitching drills, and it goes by the name of 'clock face' pitching. This will really help improve the consistency of your pitching, and help you get your ball closer to the hole on a more regular basis from around the greens. Watts explains more in the video below:
GOLF TIP #5 - HOW TO HOLE MORE PUTTS FROM CLOSE RANGE
It's one of the most common putting drills of all time, and it's even used by Tiger Woods. You can also a number of different putting gadgets for this drill these days, but we prefer to use tee pegs (just don't stick them into the green too hard as we don't want complaints from greenkeepers). Set up two pegs either side of the ball, and putt through the tees as explained by PGA pro Adam Glass in the video below:
