The 2025 Masters is underway, but how many golfers will make it through to the weekend and make the cut?

The first major of the year begins Thursday 10 April and will end on Sunday 13, but not every golfer of the 95 field can make it to the weekend.

This is because The Masters has a cut where those below a certain place on the leaderboard will be eliminated halfway through the tournament, with those inside the cut line finishing out the event over the weekend.

What is the average Masters cut line?

According to Golfweek, the average Masters cut line is 147.7, which is a score between 3 over and 4 over.

However, 2021 was the first year since 1961 that the Masters did not include the ‘10-shot rule’ which allowed any player within 10 shots of the lead to make it through despite being out of the top 50 (or 40 or 44 as it has been in the past)

Do golfers who miss the cut still get paid?

Yes, players who miss the cut at the Masters sill get paid, but nowhere near as much as those who make it to the weekend.

If a golfer misses the Masters cut, they will still receive a payout of $10,000, but that does not come close to the $3.6m prize for winning the tournament.
