Tiger Woods' Jupiter Links GC sit bottom of the pile with the bookmakers at odds of 8/1 (+900) prior to TGL getting underway this week.

TGL is a new tech-inspired golf league that has been set up by Woods, Rory McIlroy and their TMRW Sports co-founder and CEO Mike McCarley.

The indoor golf league starts up on Tuesday 7 January.

TGL will consist of six teams comprising four PGA Tour players each in its debut season.

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler has declined to take part though.

Each of the TGL teams will play five matches with the top four teams advancing to the TGL Playoffs, a best of three series starting on 24 March.

The action takes place at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

TGL was forced into a 12-month suspension after the stadium roof caved in at the end of 2023.

Woods' team includes himself, Tom Kim, Max Homa and Kevin Kisner.

But the bookies certainly do not fancy Jupiter Links GC to get the job done, especially with the 15-time major champion still recovering from the sixth back surgery of his career in September 2024.

Woods played in all four majors last season but he missed the cut in three of them and finished last of those that made the cut at The Masters.

The former World No.1 made his competitive return just before Christmas alongside his son Charlie Woods at the PNC Championship.

Team Woods finished second after being denied in a playoff by Team Langer.

Woods' TGL team will not get underway until 14 January when Jupiter Links GC take on Los Angeles GC.

Arguably the clash of TGL will then take place two weeks later when Woods' team battles McIlroy's Boston Common GC on 27 January.

Related:

Woods' Jupiter Links GC has been priced up at odds of 8/1 (+900), which is bottom of the six teams taking part in TGL.

Therefore a $100 wager on Woods' team would return you a profit of $800 and a total payout of $900.

McIlroy's Boston Common GC, which includes himself, Hideki Matsuyama, Keegan Bradley and Adam Scott, has been installed as the third favourites with the bookies at odds of 4/1 (+500).

A $100 wager on McIlroy's team would return you a profit of $400 and a total payout of $500.

The winner of TGL will win the SoFi Cup.

GolfMagic Editor Verdict:

It's hard to get away from McIlroy's Boston Common GC with four major champions in the lineup but I think Los Angeles GC can get the job done with four fantastic ball strikers in Morikawa, Fleetwood, Theegala and Rose.
