Rory McIlroy claimed there is 'nowhere' he can't go without people stopping him and telling the golfer how much they love TGL

McIlroy launched the simulator golf league with 15-time major champion Tiger Woods at the beginning of the year.

Viewing figures for the inaugural season have been up-and-down and the reception to the venture so far has been mixed to say the least.

The 35-year-old and his Boston Common Golf teammates were beaten for the fourth time on Monday, losing 6-3 to Atlanta Drive.

"I think people have enjoyed watching it on TV," McIlroy told reporters in the immediate aftermath of another defeat.

"There's nowhere that I can go that people aren't talking to me about it."

McIlroy said he went skiing in Montana last weekend with his wife Erica and daughter Poppy.

"Even people were coming up to me and they're saying, 'Oh, we love TGL, we love watching it on Monday and Tuesday nights.'"

He added: "It's nice to be out and around and be with the general public and have random people come up to you and say that they're enjoying it."

McIlroy's teammate, 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, said he was inundated with questions by other players at the Genesis Invitational about TGL.

Bradley said the main questioned being asked is: "Is it fun?"

"It's definitely everybody's first question they want to know," Bradley said.

"Especially people that play a lot of golf in simulators in cities, they love watching us. This is how they play."

Boston's match against Atlanta wasn't the only TGL match on Monday.

Los Angeles came from behind to defeat New York 5-4 and book their playoff place.

PGA Tour star Tony Finau made his debut after signing a one-match contract with Los Angeles.

Finau filled in because Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose had other commitments.
