Paige Spiranac makes Tiger Woods claim ahead of TGL starting up in 2025

Paige Spiranac believes the giant simulator installed for TGL "looks better than expected" after watching Tiger Woods bash balls into the screen for the first time. 

Woods, 48, was the latest player to test out the sim earlier this week ahead of the launch of TGL on 7 January 2025. 

The former World No.1 has been hitting balls again this month after taking time to recover from the sixth back surgery of his career in September.

Woods is back in competitive action for the first time since the 152nd Open in July at the PNC Championship from 21-22 December. 

He will be playing alongside his 15-year-old son Charlie Woods in the 36-hole family event. 

Woods' attentions will then turn to TGL in the new year, a new initiative in partnership with his business partner Rory McIlroy and the PGA Tour. 

TGL (Tomorrow Golf League) is a tech-driven competition headlined by 15-time major champion Woods and World No.3 McIlroy.

Matches will take place at the SoFi Center, a purpose-built arena, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

There are six teams in the league, comprising of the very best PGA Tour players.

Runaway World No.1 Scottie Scheffler will not be taking part though. 

There are no LIV Golf players in action.

Jon Rahm and Tyrrelll Hatton had signed up for TGL when it was first announced but they were both booted out when they joined LIV in 2024.

ESPN uploaded a clip of Woods testing out the simulator earlier this week. 

A number of other PGA Tour stars have also been testing out the giant sim, including Billy Horschel and Justin Rose. 

Unsurprisingly, golf fans were buzzing when they caught their first glimpse of Woods hitting balls into the new TGL sim. 

Spiranac, 31, was very much one of them. 

"This looks better than expected!" tweeted Paige. "Are you going to tune in?"

Woods is the captain of Jupiter Island GC, which get their season underway on 14 January. 

McIlroy, 35, is the captain of Boston Common GC. Their first game takes place on 27 January in a mouth-watering clash with Woods' Jupiter Island GC.
