Viktor Hovland laughs like a maniac then destroys golf reporter: "Suck it!"
Viktor Hovland re-lived one of his coolest moments from the 2023 Ryder Cup with former PGA Tour player Smylie Kaufman on the American's podcast.
Viktor Hovland was one of Europe's most impressive performers at the 2023 Ryder Cup.
Let's face it, he simply had to be if Luke Donald's side were going to defeat a Team USA side stacked with talent.
There was a huge amount of pressure on the young Norwegian's shoulders, given his finish to the PGA Tour season which saw him crowned the FedEx Cup champion.
Hovland demonstrated his clutch skills in the second match of the '23 Cup where he was paired alongside Ludvig Aberg against Max Homa and Brian Harman.
Aberg left Hovland in a tricky position. He left his playing partner pin high with his approach, but Hovland needed to navigate a ridge.
Most of us hacks would simply grab the putter and try and nestle the ball close on the slick greens.
Hovland had other ideas and chipped in, fist-pumped and Europe were on their way.
Smylie Kaufman was calling the action for NBC and also fully expected Hovland to grab the flatstick.
Hovland recently joined the former PGA Tour player on "The Smylie Show" where they chatted all things golf.
Kaufman brought up the fact that moment was the only incorrect call he had all week.
He jokingly blasted Hovland: "You screwed me, you did. Because 23 out of 24 players would have grabbed the putter on the back of that green on one. I looked at it, I walked right past it. It was a putt. It was never in my mind a chip."
The duo watched the replay together and Hovland could only respond by laughing like a maniac.
At the end of the clip, Hovland had two words for Kaufman.
"Suck it."
Never change Viktor.
