Report: PGA of America to charge volunteers $350 at 2025 Ryder Cup
The PGA of America is planning to charge volunteers $350 at the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, according to a bombshell report.
Volunteers at the 2025 Ryder Cup will be charged $350 by the PGA of America, according to a report.
The claim was made by GOLF's James Colgan.
According to Colgan, the governing body that oversees the running of the major will charge $350 for a volunteer package.
That includes a uniform, a drawstring bag, a commemorative pin and food during shifts.
It is commonplace for volunteers to be charged, but it is generally understood the fees are not subject to the same price hikes as tickets.

Earlier in the week all hell broke loose on social media after ticket prices for the 2025 contest at Bethpage Black in New York were revealed.
Tickets go on sale in November and those wanting to attend will have to fork out $750 for one day of action.
The PGA of America was accused of pricing out genuine golf fans given the price is five times more expensive than the cheapest daily ticket for this year's Masters and U.S. Open ($140).
Bryan Karns, the Ryder Cup championship director, defended the price hike in an interview with SiriuxXM PGA Tour radio.
Karns doubled down.
He compared the Ryder Cup to a 'Tier 1' sporting event akin to the NBA Finals or MLB's World Series.

"We knew that it was going to be critical to get this right and to try to do something that we felt was on par with where we viewed ourselves and where our position was in this world," he said.
"But at the same time, understanding there is some nuance to Ryder Cup tickets.
"It's a full day event versus three hours. It's without a seat, but a GA ticket allows you the chance to be on a rope line, compared to if I bought the standing room only at Yankee Stadium.
"So we try to factor all those in. And it's never as simple as saying it’s apples to apples. But we we took a lot of feedback and got to this point where we felt like, look, this is this is what we feel confident in.
"When you get into a situation where the demand is so high, you want to do your best to price it so you don’t create this massively inflated secondary market."

Fans will be informed in a few weeks whether they have been successful in the ballot.
