A bushy-haired, chubby-cheeked McIlroy reportedly agreed an endorsement contract with Nike in 2013 that was worth between $100-250m.
In 2017, the four-time major champ formally agreed a 10-year extension to that deal.
During the early days of his career, McIlroy was also using Nike clubs, but the brand discontinued making golf equipment in 2017.
That allowed McIlroy to negotiate an equipment contract with TaylorMade, said to be worth in the region of $100m.
McIlroy, along with Tiger Woods, are the two highest-profile staff players with the brand.
The Northern Irishman extended his contract with TaylorMade in May 2022.
