Report: Memo to PGA Tour staff illustrates how badly (!) Tiger wants to move on
PGA Tour employees were told no historical footage of Tiger Woods in Nike gear was to be shared on tournament social channels going forward.
Tiger Woods made his first official start on the PGA Tour in months at the Genesis Invitational.
In case you somehow managed to dodge the news, it was the first time we saw Woods on the course in 27 years in something other than Nike gear.
Woods played 24½ holes at Riviera Country Club in his new Sun Day Red apparel. Oh, and he's also got some new golf shoes.
What was interesting is that Woods has also decided to ditch the iconic TW logo that he debuted in the year 2000 just before he won the Tiger slam.
Woods explained before teeing it up on Thursday he didn't even want the logo anymore, telling a reporter matter-of-factly: "I've moved on."
And a report by NLU's Kevin Van Valkenburg published this week illustrates just how desperate Woods is to distance himself from Nike.
So much so, PGA Tour staff were reportedly told before the Genesis that going forward, they must only share imagery and video content of Woods on tournament channels in his Sun Day Red clothing.

Woods' latest comeback on the PGA Tour ended in misery for the iconic golfer.
After he struck his tee shot on the seventh hole during the second round, he withdrew from the tournament he hosts annually.
He was whisked away in a golf cart looking in visible anguish. His supporters feared the worst as paramedics were called.
But Woods walked out of the property a short time later. His management team then confirmed he was suffering from flu-like symptoms.
The paramedics were only called as there were no IV's at the clubhouse. Woods also complained of feeling dizzy.
It is anticipated his next start could either be The Classic at Palm Beaches or the coveted Players Championship.
