PGA Tour put on full blast after 'cruel' social media post: 'Kick a man while he's down...'
'Doing him dirty with this post': golf fans hit out at the PGA Tour after their 'cruel' post of Wilson Furr missing the cut in his home event.
Golf fans have put the PGA Tour on full blast after they decided to post video content of Wilson Furr being unsuccessful in his bid to make the halfway cut in his home event at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
'Friday Night Drama', the PGA Tour stuck on its first graphic of Furr holding a wedge to his face.
The PGA Tour captioned the post: 'Jackson native Wilson Furr (#FedExCup No. 183) needed a birdie on 18 to make the cut on the number.'
There were then two more videos for fans to scroll through.
At this stage, fans were left thinking Furr probably went on to make a birdie to make the cut in his home tournament.
It would have been a nice story, right?
The second video post stuck up by the PGA Tour then sees Furr send his approach shot from the rough into the greenside bunker.
At this stage, you are now thinking he most definitely holed out from sand to make the cut.
I mean, what a story that would be, right?!
However, Furr did not.
In fact his bunker shot was not even close to going in.
We then see Furr smash his club against the side of the bunker in disappointment just to further rub salt into the wounds.
Furr's ball ended up some 10 feet past the hole and he even missed the par putt to finish at 4-under par.
That saw him miss the cut by two shots and further dented his hopes of keeping his PGA Tour card for 2025.
Golf fans were left baffled by the point of this PGA Tour post, at least judging by their comments on Instagram.
