PGA Tour pro provides Anthony Kim update: "Here's the scoop"
PGA Tour pro Max Homa gave a 'behind-the-scenes' look at negotiations the circuit is having with Anthony Kim, who is reportedly pondering a return.
Perhaps Max Homa knows something we don't about Anthony Kim, who is reportedly pondering a return to the PGA Tour or LIV Golf.
Or maybe Homa just woke up and chose violence. We suggest it's probably the latter.
Homa is not only one of the world's best professional golfers these days but he's also a huge fan of the sport.
We are sure he would love nothing more than to see Kim tee it up once again having disappeared from the game at the age of 26.
Kim, per GOLF's Dylan Dethier, has reportedly held talks with the PGA Tour and LIV about returning to the game.
His report stated:
Homa, who is in the field for this week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, decided to poke fun at Kim's big decision by implying that LIV's negotiating tactics might work better.
He posted:
Here’s a behind the scenes scoop of the PGA Tour and LIV negotiating with Anthony Kim to make a comeback:
PGA Tour: Plz come play on our Tour
LIV: Plz come play on our Tour and also here is 500 million dollars— max homa (@Maxhoma) January 27, 2024
Not everyone agreed.
Long-time LIV critic Brandel Chamblee replied:
"Or alternatively:
"PGA tour: Plz come play our tour and be a part of something bigger than yourself; reconnect with the audience that invested in you and truly help grow the game.
"Liv: Here's a ton of money to help a dictatorial murderer pretend he cares about you and the game of golf so he can launder his reputation; never mind that you'll be turning your back on the foundations of golf that gave you a start and the tour that gave you a stage, just say, as we command you to, that you are growing the game."
Who is Anthony Kim?
Kim rose to prominence with three victories on the PGA Tour before the age of 26.
He played a starring role at the 2008 Ryder Cup, helping the U.S. to victory.
He led the team out in the Sunday singles and destroyed Sergio Garcia 5&4.
But Kim disappeared from the game in 2012, citing no reason. He hasn't given an interview since.
It is largely accepted he cashed in on an insurance policy after struggling with injuries to his wrist and knee.
That policy would be voided if he plays pro golf again.
