PGA Tour golfer to legendary caddie Bones: "You are talking s---"
PGA Tour pro Alejandro Tosti has responded to the accusation he was slowing down play during the final round of the Texas Children's Houston Open.
PGA Tour member Alejandro Tosti has slammed legendary caddie turned analyst Jim 'Bones' Mackay for 'talking s---'.
Tosti played in the final group alongside Min Woo Lee and Ryan Fox at the Texas Children's Houston Open on Sunday.
Lee took 30 minutes to play the par-4 8th hole at Memorial Park Golf Club after he hit his tee shot into a tree.
After a protracted back-and-forth with his caddie Bo Martin, Lee was convinced to take a drop.
From there, Lee managed to save his par and went on to claim his maiden PGA Tour title after holding off a charge from Scottie Scheffler.
But according to Bones, Tosti was so annoyed with the pace of play during the final round that he talked to a rules official.
Mackay also told the Golf Channel broadcast that Tosti was deliberately slowing down play.
"I don't know what's going on, but Tosti is playing at his own pace," Bones said. "At times, it's normal. At times, it's glacially slow.
"But he's decided on this particular hole to really take his time, and he's holding up play in this last group."
Golf Channel's Brentley Romine shared an image on X that showed Tosti walking a considerable distance behind his playing partners.

But Tosti, who has developed a reputation for being one of the most controversial players on Tour, has claimed everything is not what it seems.
The 28-year-old Argentinian golfer wrote on X on Monday that he was only behind the group as he was in the restroom.
And he was grabbing a drink.
"Bones talking s--- for the fans," Tosti wrote.
"Saying l am walking 50 yards behind and 'trying to slow playing my partner'.
"The part you don’t see is that l used the restroom and prepared myself a drink."
Bones also claimed the Tosti was involved in a spicy exchange with the aforementioned Fox over a drop incident on the first hole.
Tosti has not commented on that yet.
Lee ended up winning the PGA Tour event by five strokes.
Tosti birdied two out of his final three holes to tie for fifth.
He has developed a reputation as somewhat of a 'bad boy' given he has been involved in numerous expletive-laden exchanges on the course over the years.
Tosti was suspended by the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023 after exploding at his playing partner Kyle Westmoreland over the American's slow play, according to MondayQInfo.
During the 2024 Sony Open, Tosti was also pictured sitting down on the green in what was seen as a protest over his playing partners' pace of-play.
Tony Finau was also on the receiving end of some strong words from Tosti when the duo clashed 12 months ago at the same tournament over the order of play on a green.
Despite his reputation, Tosti recently told Golf Digest before the 2025 Players Championship that he is not the man who is portrayed on the internet.
Bones talking sh*t for the fans. Saying l am walking 50 yards behind and “trying to slow playing my partner”.

The part you don’t see is that l used the restroom and prepared myself a drink.
"I know I'm a nice guy, so I don't care what people think now," he said.
Bones caddied for Phil Mickelson from 1992 to 2017.
He had a brief stint as an on-course commentator for NBC/Golf Channel before he resumed looping duties with Justin Thomas.
Thomas and Mackay tasted success at the 2022 U.S. PGA Championship at Southern Hills but they parted ways before last year's Masters.
Bones has now resumed his career in the golf media.
