Scottie Scheffler was filmed shaking his head and laughing in the scorer's hut after Min Woo Lee decided to use AimPoint from eight inches before tapping in to clinch his maiden PGA Tour title.

Lee claimed his first victory on the North American circuit at the Texas Children's Houston Open

He slept on a 54-hole lead of four strokes and expanded that to five early on Sunday.

But a flurry of birdies from the reigning Masters champion and former U.S. Open winner Gary Woodland down the stretch piled the pressure on the 26-year-old from Australia.

Lee made the closing holes even harder for himself after he found the water with his tee shot on the par-5 16th.

Still, he escaped the hole with a bogey and went to the 72nd tee box needing a par to win.

Lee pulled his tee shot left and hit his approach through the green.

From 54 feet, Lee elected to putt through the fringe of the green and rolled his golf ball to eight inches.

After watching his playing partners Alejandro Tosti and Ryan Fox hole out, Lee decided to have some fun by using the controversial AimPoint method before tapping in.

Scheffler was watching the action unfold from the scorer's hut and Woodland was on the range hitting some iron shots preparing for some extra holes.

The runaway World No.1 shook his head and laughed at Lee's theatrics before walking away.

"I feel like I can still clean up a few things"

Scheffler will now turn his attention to his Masters defence.

The 28-year-old told reporters that he will head to Augusta National on Sunday evening after spending a few days working on some things with his coach Randy.

Scheffler was forced to sit out the first two months of the PGA Tour season after he cut his palm on the stem of a wine glass over Christmas.

It has taken him a while to get into the swing of things but he feels that he's getting sharper as the days go by.

"I feel like I can still clean up a few things in my swing," Scheffler said.

"You know, my ball-striking wasn't as sharp as I would have liked for it to have been this week, but overall I mean, yesterday and today I felt like we're improving in the ball-striking.

"Yesterday the score I don't think showed it, but today the way I struck it, especially down the stretch when I really needed to, hit some really nice shots.

"[I hit a] good iron shot into 15, good iron shot into 16, good one into 17.

"I did some things that I really liked under the gun. Good pitch shot on 18 as well to still give myself a chance.

"Did some things that I'll reflect on that were good and did some things that I can sharpen up a little bit."
