New clip of Brooks Koepka daggering Rory McIlroy sparks mixed reaction
Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka may have reignited his feud with Rory McIlroy weeks before the first major championship of 2025.
Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy may have mutual respect for each other these days, but it's clear the American still believes he is the superior golfer.
Koepka was recently asked by Golf Digest to take part in a familiar challenge.
The five-time major champion was told to remain silent until he heard the name of a player that he believes is better than him.
Koepka didn't say a word when the interviewer brought up a host of major champions such as Shane Lowry, Dustin Johnson, Martin Kaymer, Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, Justin Thomas, Hideki Matsuyama, Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele and McIlroy.
He appears to believe he's a better player than runaway World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and fellow LIV Golf recruit Bryson DeChambeau.
DeChambeau landed his second major title at the 2024 U.S. Open while Scheffler enjoyed an exceptional season that saw him win seven times.
Unsurprisingly, there was only one name that made Koepka accept defeat: Tiger Woods.
"I can't even joke about that one," Koepka laughed. "Tiger's kind of got that one."

The short clip sparked a mixed reaction on X.
Current PGA Tour member Michael Kim wrote: "Rumour has it, he never talked again."
Another added: "Him thinking he's better than Scheffler is hilarious."
Here's some more comments:
"I think Rahm, Rory, Bryson and Xander have arguments over him right now but Scottie is the only one for sure better at the moment."
"I mean, Scheffler is pretty much playing better than anyone right now."
"Phil was ten times the golfer than Koepka was."
"I'd agree if he was playing on Tour."
"Brooksy ain't lying."
Have Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka ever feuded?
Not particularly.
McIlroy appeared upset with Koepka's decision to join LIV Golf in 2022 when he believed the American was staying on the PGA Tour.
He labelled Koepka and other LIV players 'duplicitous'.
For his part, Koepka said McIlroy 'can think whatever he wants'.
McIlroy has since softened his stance on LIV, admitting that he was far too judgemental of golfers that switched tours.
Koepka explained in an interview with GOLF at the turn of the year that he looked up to McIlroy when he first joined the Tour.
"Rory's a good dude," Koepka said. "We've had some good talks."
In the Netflix documentary Full Swing, McIlroy spoke of his admiration for Koepka.
Although he doesn't want Koepka to finish his career with more major wins.
