The mind-boggling sum of money this PGA Tour pro earned for epic recovery shot
PGA Tour pro Cameron Davis hit one of the best shots of the year so far in the final round of the A&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
The PGA Tour season is only a few weeks old but Cameron Davis has likely already pulled off the shot of the year.
Davis was in a world of trouble at the par-5 18th during the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
The Australian was comfortably inside the top-10 of the signature event but was staring down the barrel of a double bogey or worse.
Davis flared his tee shot right and, from 205 yards, also pushed his approach which saw his golf ball come to rest amongst some tree roots.
It seemed as though Davis was more likely to hurt himself than get his golf ball onto the green.
And yet somehow, he managed to pull off the improbable.
Davis executed the recovery shot perfectly and left himself a gimme for birdie.
The closing four saw Davis finish in a tie for fifth position with American Russell Henley, earning him a pay cheque for $755,000.
Take a look here:
No wonder he was smiling!
It was the second incredible moment of the day for Davis.
Earlier in the round, the golfer saw his approach at the par-4 4th land on his playing partner's ball.
It left him an incredibly delicate chip.
Still, he managed to convert that into a birdie.

Easy game!
Davis finished the signature event on 17-under, four strokes behind champion Rory McIlroy.
It was the first time McIlroy won at the iconic venue.
Former U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover declared in the aftermath of his victory that he believes the Ulsterman is still underrated.
