Justin Thomas names co-conspirator of explosive PGA Tour letter
Justin Thomas has explained the origins of his strongly-worded memo to the PGA Tour's membership about being more open with the media.
Justin Thomas has revealed he drafted his explosive memo to the PGA Tour's entire membership with Max Homa.
Thomas penned a page-long letter to PGA Tour golfers on 21 January.
The two-time major champion encouraged his peers to give more access to the Tour's broadcast partners 'to improve the product for fans'.
"I'm sure many of us feel the telecasts can be better, so let's help them do that," Thomas wrote.
Justin Thomas just sent this memo to PGA Tour members, obtained by @TheAthletic, about the importance of players being open and accessible to the tour's TV partners: NBC, CBS and ESPN.

The 31-year-old has now revealed the reason why he decided to write it and who helped him draft it.
Turns out, Thomas had help from the aforementioned Homa.
Homa was among the first to take part in the Tour's walk-and-talk interviews during a tournament broadcast.
"We felt like it meant a lot more coming from players, or a player, than — no offense to the staff — but the staff," Thomas told GOLF.
"The Tour just needs a lot more coming from us."
Thomas confirmed that the letter was spellchecked by the Tour's executive staff but it was otherwise unchanged.
Asked if he was concerned about the future of the circuit, Thomas said: "No, I just want it to get better.
"There's only so long we've got Tiger, and he's obviously the biggest person in golf in forever, and probably always will be.
"Like anything, I just want it to get better."
Rory McIlroy was also asked the same questioned after the first round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and he gave a reporter a curt response.
The response to the letter from Thomas has been interesting, to say the least.
Unsurprisingly, it was welcomed by the Tour's business partners, with CBS Sports chairman David Berson telling GOLF he 'loved' what he read.
Critics have pointed out the letter coincided with the fact that Thomas has now shifted from being a PGA Tour member to a PGA Tour owner given the seismic investment from Strategic Sports Group.
Going forward, Thomas and other Tour members will be beneficiaries of the Player Equity Program.
Thomas told GOLF the driving force behind the letter was simply to practice the kind of accountability the Tour 'seems to be missing'.
He added: "I can't b---- about it if I won't do anything about it.
"It drives me crazy. [Players will say,] 'Did you say anything to him about it?'
"[And other players will say,] 'Well, no.' Then how do you expect it to be better?"
