Golf fans all say same thing over PGA Tour Champions pro's putter: 'I NEED that now!'

Golf fans have all rushed onto social media to say the same thing after catching sight of Tim Herron's awesome 'putter mounted retriever' by PING during this week's PGA Tour Champions event in Florida. 

Herron, 54, is competing at the Constellation Furyk & Friends tournament. 

The American is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour but he is yet to win on the over 50s circuit. 

Herron is best known as 'Lumpy' by his peers.

He was given his nickname by a golf pro while working in the bag room as a teenager.

As we join a clip posted on social media, Herron casually drains an eight-footer for birdie on the par-3 17th.

He then saunters to the hole but instead of bending down to pick his ball out, he flips his putter over so the grip plucks the ball out of the hole.

A perfect way to prevent him from bending down and hurting his knees and back. 

It's fair to say a large number of golf fans are loving the concept.

The putter being used by Herron is a PLD Custom Putter (Prime Tyne) by PING.

Herron carded a second-round 71 to progress to 6-under par just inside the top 10 heading into Sunday's final round. 

Perhaps we'll see Tiger Woods use something similar when he returns to competitive action.

Woods, 48, has been sidelined after having last month undergone a sixth career back surgery.

Prior to that, he underwent ankle surgery in 2023, two years after his horror car crash in Los Angeles.
