Legendary golf commentator David Feherty took aim at DP World Tour pro Romain Langasque after he withdrew during the second round at The 152nd Open Championship.

Langasque, 29, bowed out of The Open at Royal Troon while he was hacking it around on the 8th hole.

The Frenchman cited a back injury for his official reason to WD from the final major of the season.

Langasque opened his second round with a bogey but then got it back with a birdie at the 2nd.

But the wheels then started to fall off with bogeys at the 4th, 5th and 7th.

The one-time DP World Tour winner then fatted his wedge shot on the short par-3 8th.

That ended up in the the fescue grass short of the green.

He then thinned his second shot from there.

While the ball was still in motion, Langasque took off his cap and shook hands with the officials and his playing partners CT Pan and Yuto Katsuragawa.

"He just hit it a wee bit fat," Ryder Cup legend Sam Torrance said in the comms box while watching Langasque go about his chip shot on the 8th.

"Oooh, this one doesn't look too good either. He's kind of hitting it on the run now, he's 3-over."

John Morgan then said: "He does fly a bit hot under the collar."

Reacting to Langasque's WD when pressed for comment on it during 'The Pat McAfee Show', outspoken Irish golf commentator Feherty took dead aim at the Frenchman.

"Well first of all, that guy's French," said Feherty.

"You know? So what else are you gonna say?"

The comment drew laughter in the studio.

"Nothing else needs to be said," replied McAfee.

Langasque is the fourth player to withdraw from The Open this week.

Sebastian Sodeberg withdrew prior to the start of the tournament on Wednesday through injury.

Langasque joined major champions Ernie Els and John Daly in withdrawing from The Open on Friday.
