Charley Hull to caddie before crucial putt: "You booked that massage, innit?"
Mel Reid dropped an hilarious tale involving Charley Hull at the Solheim Cup during the live coverage of the U.S. Women's Open.
Mel Reid has undoubtedly been the standout performer of the 2024 U.S. Women's Open coverage.
First the golfer perfectly dissected Nelly Korda's disasterclass, prompting some to suggest she will soon be giving Johnson Wagner a run for his money.
And she upped her game on Friday evening, telling an hilarious story about her Solheim Cup teammate Charley Hull.
If you weren't aware, Hull has got ADHD.
She opened up on her 'severe' diagnosis last July in an interview with the BBC.
Hull said it finally explained why she often gets a little bit bored on the golf course.
Reid said most of her stories about Hull would be better suited to a late night channel and not Live From...
But she dropped a classic about Hull.
During the 2017 Solheim Cup, Reid and Hull were pitted against Lexi Thompson and Christie Kerr.
They were one down at the 16th hole but Hull had the opportunity to tie the match with a 12-foot putt.
But according to Reid, she was more interested in whether her caddie Adam Woodward had booked her in for a massage because she had a stiff neck.
Hull drained the putt, didn't celebrate and then turned to Woodward and apparently said: "You definitely booked it, yeah? Because my neck is well stiff, innit!"
Reid added: "That's just Charley Hull. She's obviously a glamour girl. She loves the attention, she does, she loves it.
"She was a bit more health conscious back then, not ripping darts like she is now.
"But listen, she's so impressive in big moments. She is one of the most fierce competitors I have ever met, I could about Charley all day long and all night long.
"I love the girl to death. I really do hope that she crosses the line in a major championship because she would be an unbelievable champion if she turns up to the press conference.
"She'd probably be getting her hair done or something."
