A key official involved in Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods' TGL hasn't ruled out the possibility of trying to get LIV Golf players involved in the future.

Mike McCarley, who is the joint-founder and chief executive of TMRW Sports, has told Sports Business Journal that TGL is not dismissive of the idea of expanding the league in the future.

He also explained that TGL wants to build more venues such in locations such as Las Vegas, Scottsdale and Southern California.

Woods and McIlroy's TGL officially launched last Tuesday with The Bay's match against New York.

Opening night of TGL drew nearly one million viewers on ESPN but despite the numbers there have been mixed reviews.

Time will tell if it proves to be a success but McCarley appears to be already thinking of a bigger future.

"I know it's interesting and I know everyone's talking about it and I know it's fun to kind pontificate on what could or could not be, but we have a job to do," he told SBJ when asked if TGL would be open to LIV players' participation.

McCarley confirmed that he had players in mind.

But he added: "But the reality is, we have a good business in what we have now."

Few could be forgiven if the American media executive was thinking of the likes of Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and Bryson DeChambeau.

Rahm and Hatton were slated to be part of TGL when the initial roster was announced in 2023.

But their moves to LIV Golf prevented them from competing as TGL is a collaboration with the PGA Tour.

Rahm and Hatton remained indefinitely banned.

DeChambeau moved to LIV much earlier but is custom made for TGL.

His popularity has soared since launching his YouTube channel.

The next TGL match will see Woods' Jupiter Links face Los Angeles.

Woods' teammates are Tom Kim, Kevin Kisner and Max Homa.

Justin Rose, Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa are representing LA.
