Report: Anthony Kim's caddie makes shock revelation
Kim's looper has revealed a shocking insight regarding the equipment the LIV star has been using on the breakaway Tour.
Anthony Kim's caddie has disclosed a shocking revelation regarding the equipment his man has been using since his return to professional golf.
Kim, 38, made his long-awaited return to competitive golf last week when he teed it up at LIV Jeddah.
Marking his first start in over 12 years, Kim struggled to recreate the form that once made him the sixth-best player in the world.
The three-time PGA Tour winner finished dead last for the week, 33 shots behind the winner, Joaquin Niemann.
Despite struggling, Kim did show glimpses of his former prowess and showcased the mannerisms and swagger that made him such a popular figure over a decade ago.
Kim has signed a season-long contract with the Saudi-backed Tour. He will play as a wildcard in every tournament, unaffiliated with any team.
Despite his disappointing debut, Kim bounced back last week at LIV Hong Kong.
Kim told of how he 'felt like he had won' after putting in an impressive final round.
The enigmatic American didn't manage to break par at Hong Kong Golf Club during the opening two rounds but put on a clinic in the final round, shooting a 5-under 65, his best score since joining LIV.
Kim bested some of the Tour's biggest stars on the day and led the field for the fewest putts, with 23.
While the score was good, it was made even more impressive following information revealed by Kim's caddie and long-time friend, Ryan Todey.
Per Flushing It, Todey revealed that Kim's clubs aren't, in fact, fitted for him, and the pair still don't exactly know how far each club goes.
Kim has a full set of Titleist clubs in his bag but, bizarrely, has yet to have them custom-fitted.
While we don't have the exact figures to back this up, we would be willing to bet he is the only player on either the LIV or PGA Tour currently using unfitted clubs from week to week.
A fitting process is used to fine-tune and calibrate a player's set to optimise each club in the bag to achieve consistent yardages and ideal flight characteristics.
Speaking to Flushing It, Todey went on to confirm that Kim will be looking to get his clubs fitted in time for LIV Miami at Trump National Doral.
We will be monitoring the situation closely, and it will be fascinating to see what Kim can do with a bag of custom fitted clubs.
