Anthony Kim admits he has turned down big sponsorship deals since becoming a wildcard on the LIV Golf League this season.

Kim, 39, made his shock return to the professional game earlier this season when he was announced as the latest player on the breakaway Saudi golf league.

The former US Ryder Cup hero made his competitive return at Jeddah in March after some 12 years away from the PGA Tour due to injury.

Kim cited ongoing physical therapy and numerous surgeries as the reasons for delaying his return.

He also described during a recent interview with LIV Golf commentator David Feherty that he had been through hell and back in recent years.

Kim was not given a place on a LIV Golf team but he just joined as a wildcard player for 2024.

It remains to be seen whether Kim extends his contract into 2025, and whether he joins up with a new LIV Golf team.

Kim's results have been sketchy to say the least so far this season, but he has been improving slightly in recent weeks.

Two ties for 46th remain his best showing across nine LIV Golf events.

Kim will be looking to build on some improved form at this week's LIV Golf Greenbrier, which gets underway on Friday.

The American has been particularly vocal since getting stuck into social media for the first time this year.

And the story is no different this week.

During a recent back and forth with one of his haters, Kim revealed how he has turned down a number of big sponsorship deals since return to the professional game.

In response to Kim's latest tweet ahead of LIV Golf Greenbrier this week, one of his haters replied:

'From a dude milking his family and recovery for sponsor dollars, I'd take a f***ing seat.'

Kim then came back to inform the X / Twitter user how he had turned down big sponsorship opportunity this season.

He responded:

'I could see u how u could think that but it would make u sick wat I’ve turned down this year sponsorship wise so I suggest u take that empty seat big guy. Come get a hug.'

Jon Rahm is a warm tournament favourite at LIV Golf Greenbrier this week.

Rahm won the latest LIV Golf tournament (LIV Golf UK) at JCB in Rochester, England.

He looked to be set to win a gold medal at the Olympics two weeks ago in Paris when pulling four shots clear of the chasing pack heading into the back nine, but he blew things spectacularly and didn't even finish on the podium.

Bryson DeChambeau is the defending champion this week and he is second in the betting alongside the likes of in-form Tyrrell Hatton and Joaquin Niemann.
