Ortiz carded a five-under 67 on Sunday to reach 15-under par and defeat Poland's Adrian Meronk by one stroke.
Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, Sergio Garcia and Graeme McDowell were the other notables who finished inside the top-10.
"It means a lot, I've been working really hard," Ortiz said.
"I've come close a couple of times. I learnt a lot from [playing in] Australia, and I just tried to stay patient and do my thing and it worked out."
Elsewhere, Martin Kaymer's Cleeks claimed their very first team victory.
Kaymer, along with Richard Bland, Kalle Samooja and the aforementioned Meronk combined to post 33-under to beat Smash by two strokes.
Garcia's Fireballs finished third.
Ortiz did not manage to qualify for next week's U.S. Open but he's set his sights on qualifying for the 152nd Open at Royal Troon in July.
LIV will play their ninth event of the 2024 campaign in Nashville over 21-23 June before heading to Europe.
