Bryson DeChambeau has pushed back over recent claims he is unhappy at LIV Golf

DeChambeau was one of the key names that joined the Saudi-backed league from the PGA Tour in 2022.

The length of his contract isn't clear, with some suggesting that it is due to expire at the end of 2025.

It led to speculation that DeChambeau has been involved in talks over a lucrative extension.

One American podcast, Pull Hook, made the outlandish claim the reigning U.S. Open champion wanted a new deal worth $280m that was ultimately rejected.

The wild -  and unsubstantiated claim -  was met with derision from fellow LIV recruit Lee Westwood, who described it as 'codswallop'.

Asked if there was any truth the reports ahead of LIV Golf Hong Kong, DeChambeau said: "No, I'm very excited about the future of LIV Golf.

"I'm very excited to be the captain of the Crushers and continue our legacy that we're starting to create.

"That's my goal is to create this lasting legacy where we impact millions and millions of golfers' lives around the world.

"That should tell you everything you should know."

Asked for his views about what the future of LIV could look like, DeChambeau was clear.

"I continue to see LIV Golf growing," DeChambeau said.

"It's going to grow at an exponentiating pace for years to come, and we aren't going anywhere."

Bryson DeChambeau has already played Augusta National

The first major championship of 2025 is on the horizon.

DeChambeau told reporters in Hong Kong that he's already had one reconnaissance trip to Augusta National ahead of the tradition unlike any other.

"I'm excited [and] I'm ready," DeChambeau said when asked how his Masters prep is going.

"I feel like I'm ready at least. I've made some switches with the golf ball, and this week we're trying it out. It's been pretty solid so far, so we'll see how that works.

"But I'm just comfortable. I'm excited is really what it comes down to. However the cards play out, they'll play out, but I am genuinely excited for this year."
