European Ryder Cup star Robert MacIntyre shocked himself during the opening round of the 2025 Porsche Singapore Classic.

The Scotsman made a fine start at Laguna National Golf Resort on Friday and had played his first 13 holes in 3-under.

By the time he left the par-5 14th green, though, he was a smidge red-faced, surprised and likely angry at himself.

MacIntyre did the hard part by finding the fairway with his tee shot and ultimately found himself putting for birdie from the first cut of rough.

His effort slid by the cup and he went to tidy up the par relatively quickly but couldn't believe it when he missed.

Perhaps he was under the commentators curse as Sky Sports viewers were reminded that he had only dropped one shot until that point.

Despite the miss, MacIntyre did produce some magic elsewhere.

Watch some of his first round highlights here:

MacIntyre has worked hard on his putting in recent years.

And on the PGA Tour, he is better than average inside 10 feet.

So far this season on the North American circuit, MacIntyre made 425 putts inside 10 feet out of 482 attempts.

Inside three feet, he has made 99.66 per cent of putts.

The first round of the Porsche Singapore Classic was washed out.

English duo Marcus Armitage and Matthew Jordan share the lead on 7-under after 18 holes.
