BMW PGA Championship prize money: Check out how much Billy Horschel claimed after he defeated Rory McIlroy in a playoff at Wentworth.
Billy Horschel claimed the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth for the second time in his career.
The American needed extra holes to defeat Rory McIlroy and South Africa's Thriston Lawrence in Surrey.
Lawrence bowed out on the first playoff hole before Horschel, 37, drained a monster eagle putt at the next to break McIlroy's heart.
McIroy was promptly spotted being consoled by his daughter Poppy.
As ever, there was a huge amount of prize money up for grabs this week seeing as it was a Rolex Series event.
In total, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth had a total purse of $9m.
That means Horshcel took home the top prize of $1,530,000.
