Golf fans all making the same joke after Phil Mickelson's Ryder Cup Friday video
The vast majority of golf fans appeared to be making the same joke after LIV Golf's Phil Mickelson released a video message on Ryder Cup Friday.
Phil Mickelson has played in 12 Ryder Cups and you would have expected him to be involved in the dust-up for many years to come.
He was touted as a future captain. Some suggested he had already been lined up to lead the red, white and blue at Bethpage Black in two years time.
His counterpart was apparently going to be Ian Poulter. But then both went to LIV to dash, at least in the short term, their Ryder Cup dreams.
For his part Poulter has sent his well wishes to Luke Donald and his team of 12 golfers at the 2023 contest at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club.
Even if Rory McIlroy said he wouldn't miss him.
Mickelson is taking a different route. He decided to drop in on Ryder Cup Friday with what he said was an important message.
He posted early, around 4am E.T., because he knew everyone would be up.
I mean, with this scene, why wouldn't you be?

Mickelson likes to drink a lot of coffee. Particularly his own brand, which he'll tell you is for WELLNESS.
He explained the importance in his video message.
The majority of golf fans, particularly those from the US, suggested it was Zach Johnson's Team USA that needed caffeine given they were whitewashed 4-0 in the opening foursomes session of the Ryder Cup.
Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns lost their opening match 4&3 to Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton.
Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg smashed Brian Harman and Max Homa 4&3.
Shane Lowry and Sepp Straka saw off Rickie Fowler and Collin Morikawa 2&1.
And McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood defeated Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay 2&1.
GolfMagic went inside the ropes for that one.
