Sam Burns is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour.
Burns was born on 23 July 1996 to Todd and Beth Burns. He has two older siblings, a brother called Chase and a sister called Tori.
Sam grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Burns was a very talented junior golfer and was a three-time state champion whilst he attended the Calvary Baptist Academy.
He made his PGA Tour debut in 2017 at the Sanderson Farms Championship having risen through the ranks like many before him on the Web.com Tour, which is now known as the Korn Ferry Tour.
As of November 2022 Burns is a four-time PGA Tour winner. His first victory came at the 2020-2021 Valspar Championship. He defended that title the following season.
His other victories include winning the 2021-2022 Charles Schwab Challenge and the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Burns has also represented the victorious U.S at the 2022 Presidents Cup and the 2017 Arnold Cup. He is yet to feature in a Ryder Cup.
Outside of golf, he has said in interviews his hobbies include fishing, hunting and watching American football.
He is extremely close to fellow PGA Tour player and 2022 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler.
Burns is married to Caroline Campbell. The couple wed in December 2019 having dated for eight years.
Caroline likes to keep a low-profile but can often be seen on the fairways supporting her husband.
Burns is also heavily involved in charitable causes. He is passionate about helping those with diabetes. His best friend is a diabetic.
As of December 2022, Burns had $15,262,927 in PGA Tour career earnings. He did not feature in the 2022 Player Impact Program results.
His total net worth is believed to be in the region of $8-10m.
