Stylo Legend Armadillo

The first in our winter shoe review series

Stylo Legend Armadillo

We tested a range of golf shoes in the dry but mostly in the wet during the
autumn and early winter. Here's the first of our findings.

Great value shoes from Stylo.

No.1 Stylo Legend Armadillo (£39.99)

Colours: Black, burgundy/black, white, black/burgundy, white/burgundy.

You don't have to spend a fortune to get a good, solid pair of winter golf as or test team discovered when we tried out these Stylos.

Now here at GOLFmagic we're a bit perfectionist when it comes to equipment, so we didn't expect much from a
pair of golf shoes retailing at just £39.99. But we were impressed.

The shoes have a superb sole arrangement with both sets of spikes easy to change over (with the device provided). The soft spikes looked to be
too shallow to be effective but proved to be excellent in wet and muddy conditions. However, the steel spikes were less comfortable and could be felt through the
sole.

The extra wide fitting (available only in black) was particularly good. They tended not to crease between lace and toes, where I normally get
blisters and discomfort. However if you like your laces tight then you could find the tongue at the top of the laces a little brittle, but will no doubt soften with
wear.

Waterproof?

Yes, the shoes were fully waterproof and warm and one tester Brian Birchill commented "I'd definitely
consider Stylo next time I'm looking for a pair of golf shoes."

Verdict?:

Surprisingly good performance and great value from Stylo.

Golfmagic rating: 9/10
