Cobra Golf Putters Review: Vintage and 3D Printed

It has been a long time since Cobra Golf have released new putters, but they are back in 2021 with a mouth-watering new release of 3D printed and Vintage putters.

The 3D printed putters are very appealing with their slick look and use of revolutionary Descending Loft Technology, which helps every golfer to choose a putter that is guaranteed to suit their stroke.

The Vintage range of Cobra Golf putters have lovely-looking designs and with their stainless steel manufacturing, they really do offer a classic feel and appearance when you look down the club.

The 3D printed putters are slightly more expensive than the Vintage putters, but these two new ranges from Cobra Golf could be the very thing to help improve your putting stroke and short game.

THE DETAILS

Cobra Golf have released two new ranges of putter: The 3D printed range and the Vintage range. They are different and have separate qualities.

The designs and colour schemes have taken inspiration from sports cars, which are immediately eyecatching. 3D printing is also found in the Cobra RadSpeed irons as it allows you to move and minimise the weight.

In the 3D printed putters, there is a nylon cartridge which allows you to reposition the weight in the head and increase the MOI. For those who may not be familiar with this, a higher MOI prevents players from twisting the putter face.

This range of putter takes inspiration from Sik Golf, who also produce putters for players such as US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau. Cobra have adopted the same Descending Loft Technology to enhance the quality of the putter.

Descending Loft Technology is used to create different lofts on the face of the putter. This is extremely useful because every golfer has a different stroke, so this technology allows you to strike the ball perfectly no matter what angle you bring the putter back from.

Alos, Cobra have added their own forged aluminium insert to increase feel and it also saves around 50 grams of weight with a forged aluminium crown, which allows the putter to sit softly in your hands.

In the 3D printed range, there is the Agera, Supernova and Grandsport putters which are all available in the United Kingdom. The Vintage range also has three models which are available in the UK.

The Vintage sport, nova and stingray are all made with stainless steel and the design makes them incredible clubs to pick up and look at, even before you've used them.

Cobra Golf are looking to promote the custom fitting option with the Vintage range. Each putter has a number by its name which signifies the toe hang of the club, which will be an important thing to consider when buying the club.

The toe hang of the putter must suit your stroke, which is why Cobra offer custom fitting. The Vintage putters offer custom weighting and they are bigger than the 3D printed models.

GOLFMAGIC VERDICT

The new Vintage putters have a fantastic design and on the eye, they are aesthetically pleasing with their stainless steal model. The inspiration taken from sports cars will always be a big attraction for golf fans too.

However, if you are looking for a new putter with better feel, the 3D printed range is preferable, if you are willing to spend a touch more money than the Vintage range.

The Descending Loft Technology really contributes to the roll and feel of the club. No matter what stroke you have, there will be no effect of sidespin and it makes it easy to putt well.

A standout item from the range is the Agera in the armlock style, as it looks good when you address the ball and the feel from the 3D printing style is great.

You could say that the Vintage putter is a better looking club and still feels good, but the 3D printed model has a high MOI which helps to keep the clubface straight. 

Both designs are great developments in Cobra Golf's equipment collection and it is great to see that they have introduced putters back into their present day portfolio.
