R11

The R11 iron has inverted cone technology to increase ball speed and forgiveness on mis-hits. A weight port in the rear ensures consistent swingweight and centre of gravity locations throughout the set.

In terms of apperance, the ultra-thin clubface of the R11 does well to hide the game improvement characteristics at address.

Centre hits felt responsive and lively, in true TaylorMade fashion, and swings felt balanced through to impact.

The R11 feels very easy to hit. Shots fly high and straight on a regular basis. Off-centre strikes go further than you'd expect, and the strong lofts and high flight resulted in longer shots, too.

The only negative is that it's not as workable as some other irons out there.

Verdict

Solid sticks with high marks for accuracy and forgiveness. The R11 leans itself more toward a game-improvement iron.
