FJ Sport Lime
Golfmagic attended an official product launch with FootJoy in Amsterdam last week and was afforded the luxury of sampling the brand’s upgraded FJ Sport in a dash of lime.
The updated FJ Sport, as currently trusted by Titleist and FootJoy staff player Rafa Cabrera Bello, features a beautiful, soft full grain leather that provides all the possible breathability, support and comfort you could possibly wish for in a golf shoe.

One of the biggest positives in terms of upper technology with the FJ Sport is the external TPU Heel Stabiliser as it just makes the shoe that little bit more stable.
You can really go after just about any shot on the golf course and know you’re going to stay grounded to the turf or sand.
In terms of styling, which is always a big factor in golf apparel for me these days, the FJ Sport is sleek in the sense there’s a laser last rounded toe and I like the high frequency mould detailing that offers a contemporary look.
I’m not going to lie, the lime colour is a little different and ‘out there’ for a FootJoy shoe, but I rather quite like it. They also look neat with a pair of black trousers.
Comfort-wise, FJ Sport ticks all the right boxes. Athletic Mesh lining provides comfort and additional breathability, while a lightweight moulded EVA Fit-Bed increases underfoot cushioning, support and that aesthetic appeal.
Although I haven’t yet tested the FJ Sport in the rain, FootJoy tells me these strides have a proof-guard membrane that keeps the feet dry no matter the on-course condition.
Outside of the FJ Sport and there’s colour co-ordinated Stinger IIIO Cleats by CHAMPO that present green-friendly traction and heel cleat placement for optimum traction.
Verdict
This is a go-to shoe for many tour players and it has a great, trim fit.
While I'm more of a fan of this year's Contour Casual design, FJ Sport is a much more stable golf shoe and allows you to commit to all the shots. It’s by far one of the most comfortable shoes on the market today. At RRP £115, it also represents very good value for money.
