ECCO launches hi-tech Gore-Tex model

ECCO is extending its BIOM natural motion range with the introduction of a Gore-Tex model, while adding new colours to its Hydromax leather shoes.

The Danish shoe maker says its new BIOM model breaks convention by following the foot’s natural system for absorbing impact to enhance stability while strengthening muscles in the feet and lower legs.

By bringing the sole closer to the playing surface, ECCO says the shoes improve stability during the swing.

Scans of more than 2,500 feet were made create the perfect fit and the new golf shoes follow successful launches in the running, walking and training categories.

“The foot is an almost perfect shock absorber and BIOM supports this natural process,” says ECCO’s Michael Waack. “It helps players land more toward the mid-foot than heel and builds muscle, which improves athletic performance and decreases the likelihood of injury.”

Other features include lightweight construction, a wider, three-cleat heel, flex grooves and breathable uppers made from Tibetan Yak leather.

The BIOM Gore-Tex shoes are available in black or white/brick (£199) while the ECCO Hydromax (£185) are available in white/lime punch, white/concrete, black/concrete, white/mazarine blue or brown/fanta.
