TaylorMade signs the "guy that got friend zoned" after PGA Tour victory
PGA Tour star Aaron Wise signs for TaylorMade ahead of this week's American Express.
Aaron Wise might be best remembered so far on the PGA Tour as "the guy that got friend zoned" when winning his maiden PGA Tour title at the 2018 Byron Nelson, but we are fairly confident that is about to change following his latest new deal with TaylorMade.
Wise, 26, is a PGA Tour star in the making as he looks on from the 35th rung of the world ladder heading into this week's American Express in southern California.
He may have only won once on the PGA Tour and be winless in nearly five years now, but Wise has been steadily making big strides in the game with a number of impressive finishes over the past 12 months.
Wise finished second at the Memorial Tournament last June en route to finishing 31st in the FedEx Cup standings, and he has since added a sixth place to start the season at the CJ Cup back in October.
But TaylorMade is now anticipating bigger and better things from Wise, testament to them putting pen to paper on a new deal with him as part of the Team TaylorMade roster that includes the likes of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa and Tommy Fleetwood.
It remains to be seen what happens to TaylorMade's long-term partnership with two-time major champion Dustin Johnson following his move to LIV Golf last season.
Sergio Garcia, who has also moved to LIV Golf, was last week wiped off the TaylorMade website as one of its staff players.

The news of Wise's partnership with TaylorMade was splashed across golf social media earlier today, and one of the comments was hilarious.
"Oh I remember him, the guy that once got friend zoned?!" tweeted one golf fan.
To add reference to such a tweet, Wise's girlfriend Reagan Trussell appeared to reject his kiss on the 18th green just seconds after he won his first PGA Tour title at the Byron Nelson in 2018.
It was a pretty cringeworthy moment!

Let's hope when Wise next wins on the PGA Tour, which should not be very long now, that Reagan lands one right on the money at 18!
Swing goals. Team goals. We're excited to welcome major champion, Olympic gold medalist, and eight-time LPGA Tour winner @NellyKorda as the newest member of the squad! #TeamTaylorMade #BeyondDriven pic.twitter.com/A68ob2r0HW

TaylorMade has also this week snapped up DP World Tour star Guido Migliozzi, who will hopefully be appearing on the brand new GolfMagic Podcast very soon.
They've also signed eight-time LPGA Tour winner Nelly Korda to its roster, which also includes English sensation Charley Hull.
GolfMagic has now tested out the brand new TaylorMade Stealth Plus 2 Driver, which McIlroy will have in the bag at next week's Dubai Desert Classic.
Woods last week gave us his thoughts.
